When I got married in 2007 and then had my son in 2008 my ability to get out and play sports ended. I wasn't comfortable leaving my son with just anyone and I wanted to be the best mom I could be. At the time I thought that meant be there 24/7 for my son.
Over the years I had 2 more kids and it got even harder to do things for me. My mom passed away in 2011 and the only reliable babysitter I had was no longer around to help out. I fell into a rut and got stuck in the monotony of being a stay-at-home mom. I had no energy, was always tired, short-tempered, frustrated and bored with life.
In 2016 my friend approached me about an opportunity to workout from home. At first I was like NO WAY, but then I started to ask questions and eventually she convinced me to give it a try. After 8 years of being a stay-at-home mom, doing absolutely nothing for me, I realized it was time to put ME first.
I was instantly hooked. My passion was back, my love of fitness resurfaced and that girl from my high school years was back. After 8 years I finally realized that being the best mom I could be didn't have to mean being there for my family 24/7. I could take time for myself every day and it would actually make me a better wife and mother. Who knew?
